"I've lost my dad, I've lost my mom, I've lost sisters. Be that as it may, it resembles some individual came and grabbed a bit of my heart when I lost my tyke," he said of the December 2014 shooting passing of his child, Franciosa Lakeef Jackson. Jackson was 36. Marcus Demois Whitaker, 37, confessed Friday to kill and was sentenced Wednesday to 42 years in jail. He will be qualified for parole after he has served half of his sentence. Jackson kicked the bucket Dec. 28, 2014, in the front yard of his Rogers Street home in Kilgore. Jackson's mom told police a man recognizing himself as Marcus had gone to the entryway and made a request to talk with Jackson. They went outside and Jackson's mom said she heard shots ring out directly after she shut the entryway. Criminologist Tim Dukes of the Kilgore Police Department affirmed in Wednesday's sentencing hearing that Jackson's demise had been in requital for a non-lethal shooting a month prior at the Platinum Club in Kilgore. Jackson, who had been functioning as a security officer/bouncer at the club, made a man leave and shot him when a contention broke out outside the club. That man and another then chose to slaughter Jackson, Dukes affirmed. The combine requested that Whitaker murder Jackson since he trusted Whitaker and thought of him as a companion, Dukes said. "I don't think Franciosa ever observed it coming," he said. In a taped admission played amid the hearing, Whitaker was seen wailing with his face in his grasp while he told police how the two men offered him amongst $1,500 and $2,000 to slaughter Jackson. Whitaker told police he had been high on methamphetamine that day and that the combine who procured him had destroyed his life."had f*ed my life up." The two men Whitaker said paid him to murder Jackson have not been captured regarding the shooting. Dukes said their inclusion was all the while being researched. Whitaker was serious amid Wednesday's listening ability, keeping his concentrate on the work area where he sat in the court of Judge Alfonso Charles. Jackson's family penniless out in pants and wails when photographs of his body were appeared to the court. A couple relatives left the court in outrage and despondency.
