Hansberry climbed on to the roof on Thursday and was planning to stay until noon today with support from Fred Meyer and the Ellensburg Special Olympics Swim Team. EPD has been putting on the Cop on Top event for five years to help Special Olympics.
Aug 16, 2016 - A man and a juvenile were arrested after an alleged assault at Safeway on Sunday night, according to the Ellensburg Police Department. Two men and one juvenile were involved in a confrontation, EPD Capt. Dan Hansberry said. One of the men, Steven Schelper, 25, of Ellensburg, and the juvenile, 17, of Ellensburg, allegedly had knives.
