- Oct 17, 2016 - BOSTON — Two Boston cops shot and injured in East Boston were moved up to stable condition Monday

Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said he was at Massachusetts General Hospital and said both Officer Matt Morris and Officer Richard Cintolo are "improving." 

The office tweeted the uplifting news Monday, and requested that individuals keep on keeping the officers in their supplications. Later in the day, a mass was held at the St. Joseph and Lazarus Church in East Boston. Inhabitants of East Boston who composed the mass. "The East Boston people group has been amazing amid these circumstances," Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said. Cintolo and Morris were shot Wednesday night and genuinely injured as they reacted to a local unsettling influence. The man who shot them, 33-year-old Kirk Figueroa, was slaughtered by police. "They strolled through the front entryway and this person was equipped with tons of weaponry with ammo and body covering," Walsh said. More than 100 individuals on Friday evening walked in the East Boston neighborhood where the officers were shot to respect them.
