Monmouth County Correctional Institution or known as Monmouth County Jail, which originally opened in 1970 but was last renovated in 1993 is located in Freehold, New Jersey (a town of 31,537 residents) and serves as the county prison for all surrounding towns .  It ranks in the top 10 of largest correctional facilities in the nation.  This facility handles all security levels from minimum to maximum.  Monmouth County Jail can hold a maximum of 1,328 county, state, and federal inmates and is under the supervision of Warden Barry Nadrowski.  Monmouth County Correctional has separate units for both male and female inmates.  The staff at this facility consists of 336 officers and 46 civilian employees.  MCCI is a facility which is utilized by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to hold detainees.

Prison Programs:

Inmate Labor Program - where prisoners with minor offenses and good records are allowed to leave the facility supervised and provide various services for the surrounding towns.  Some of these services include helping restore an old cemetery or even providing litter cleanup on local roadways.

Substance Abuse Services - inmates that qaulify are given interactive classes on substance abuse.  There are also group meetings held weekly for participants.  Depending on the specific situation, individual counseling is also available.

Visitation Information for Monmouth County Correctional:

Visitors are required to show a valid picture identification card and must go through a metal detector before being granted security access.  You must be at least 18-years of age and all visitors are subject to searches.  Visitation is split into male (2 groups, A-L / M-Z) and females (1 group, A-Z).  A visitor may only visit one male inmate and one female inmate per day.  Inmates are only allowed one visitor per day, and all guest must be registered.

6:00pm - 6:45pm - all female visits

Thursday:

12:15pm - 1:45pm - all female visits

1:15pm - 3:00pm Protective Custody
